VENUE AND FACILITIES
The Sandhurst Cricket Club currently operates from the Queen Elizabeth Oval on View Street and Weeroona Oval on Weeroona Avenue in Bendigo. The Queen Elizabeth Oval is the main venue for First XI and Third XI matches on a Saturday. Weeroona Oval is the main venue for Second and Under 17 matches on a Saturday.
Weeroona Oval has upgraded facilities for training throughout the pre-season and main season.
The Club has advised Council that it is willing to relocate to Weeroona Oval when the following works and facilities have been provided: -
- Wicket table is rotated to best fit the ground (has now been completed)
- Ground is widened and playing surface is upgraded
- New pavilion is built.
The oval has great potential as a ‘boutique’ cricket ground with a picket fence, sight screens and a pavilion with cricket character.
