Sandhurst Fumble Opportunity

Sandhurst has gone down in tonight's Round 4 BDCA 20-20 match against Strathdale Marisitians @ The QEO. On a carpet like fielding surface, Sandhurst were far from clean in the field with numerous mis-fields, and allowed too many extras in their bowling effort to allow Strathdale to score 8 for 127 from their 20 overs. Successful bowlers for the Dragons were Matt Pask 2/23 (4 overs) and a run out, Alex Trump 2/37 (4 overs)  Q Bentley 1/13 (3 overs) Tim Robertson 1/21 (4 overs) whilst Scott Harper 0/11 off 3 overs and Justin Hancock 0/16 (2 overs) also played their part.

In reply Sandhurst got off to a solid start through Scullie and Polson. The loss of Polson for 17, and 37 from Nick Scullie, was followed by some poor application from the Dragons batsmen, very crisp work in the field from the Suns and the clever use of slow bowlers throughout the middle of the innings slowly took the game away from the Dragons. Only Alex Trump's 17 was of note late on as Sandhurst was bowled out in the final over for 111.

The loss leaves Sandhurst at 1 win 2 losss in the competition, with no chance of playing off in the final. Our final group game is next Tuesday out at Strauche Reserve Huntly against Huntly North Bendigo.
