Sandhurst Cricket Club

30 year 1st XI and 2nd XI premiership & player reunion at the QEO.  All current players are expected to attend.

 

In 1977-78 and 1978-79 the 1st X1 defeated Bendigo and Eaglehawk and in 1980/81 the 2nd X1 defeated Kangaroo Flat. The Club has not experienced success in either grade since these important, outstanding performances. Many members of these teams have moved on from Bendigo to all parts of Australia and the Club is endeavouring to contact all members to arrive back in Bendigo at the QEO for the start of the 1st X1 One Day Match v Golden Square (reigning premier) at Midday on Saturday 23rd January 2010. The U’17s v G/S play at Wade St from 8.45am, the 3rd X1 v G/S at the QEO starting at 8.45am also. The 2nd X1 v G/S at Wade St starts at 1.00pm.

 

You are invited to move between all matches but assembly is at 12.00 MD at the QEO. During the day the Bar will be open at the QEO for snacks and refreshments. All returning players are invited to afternoon tea at 3.30 PM in the Sandhurst Rooms to mingle and meet old friends and team mates.

 

After the conclusion of the 1st X1 Match at the QEO all present members will be joining the past players for an after match gathering, meal and social evening in the rooms. Everyone remembers the wonderful social evenings we had at the QEO and we would love to recreate that Premiership atmosphere again. The reunion is an opportunity for all past players of the Sandhurst Cricket Club to attend, not only for those who played during the 1977-1981 period. 

 

The Sandhurst Cricket Club now has sides ranging from Under 9, 11(two teams), 13, 15, 17, 3rd X1, 2nd X1 and 1st X1. You have been an important part of this progression and development. At present we are knocking on the door of success and we feel that an important event such as this reunion will encourage and build Club spirit and enthusiasm.

 

Our possible relocation to Weeroona Oval, where our training facility is based, is an important aspect of the Club at present and plans and developmental sketches will be on display for your interest.
